Judging by our mail-bag over the last few seasons, there’s a lot of Gooners who really don’t care much about international football anymore. This might have something to do with the number of injuries our players seem to pick up whenever they join up with their countries for meaningless friendlies against local farmers.
Or alternatively, it might be because international footballers, especially English ones (with the honourable exception of Theo and possibly Joe Cole), are a bunch of arrogant tossers who can barely spell pride let alone understand that it’s an emotion they should feel when representing their country.
Anyway, we here at Gooner Towers decided to try and liven up the tournament for our loyal readers by giving away with our current issue a Gooner themed World Cup Wallchart which admittedly featured a few players who won’t be appearing in South Africa this summer – hello Theo, Samir and Johan – and one who isn’t even an Arsenal player anymore (Big Phil).
However, it did include a competition which runs for the duration of the tournament which offers the chance to win a new replica home shirt and a Gooner subscription. We’re a generous bunch at times.
So why am I telling you all this? Well, we wouldn’t want our dedicated band of Online Gooner followers to miss out, so click here to download the wallchart and join in the fun.
