(Ed’s note – This piece was submitted a month ago after England’s second group game at the World Cup Finals – the 0-0 draw with Algeria in Cape Town. Things were not particularly organised at Gooner Towers at the time, so apologies to the author for the delayed posting, but I hate to waste submissions)

Hello all you Gooners out there, just a quick post after watching England play Algeria.

I think it's now pretty obvious why Arsene Wenger is accused of buying only foreign players all the time. Based on that performance how many of those players in an England shirt would you want starting for Arsenal in August? It could be said that it was a one off performance, well I'm not so sure, as they weren't that impressive against the States were they?

One game left in the group, one game left in the gimme group, the group they were so smug about qualifying with 9 points from. I hope England qualify but it will be one hell of a nerve wracking game, as don't forget Slovenia knocked out Russia over two games. I think maybe Capello might have done Theo one hell of a favour.

As for Arsenal and our transfer dealings, I read that Arsene is going to bring in a defender sometime soon, but we're not close to getting anyone yet. Hmmm, no problem Arsene we're only losing four central defenders this summer. But if you think one is enough to replace them then we must have some really good kids coming through that we don't know about.
