Instructions carried out to the letter?

Refections on the visit to Legia Warsaw

Nasri: Didn’t stick to the script

What could be better than that game? Arsenal followed AW's instructions almost perfectly:
1) "Defence today I want you to duplicate every defensive error we made last year in the first half so we can work on them next week"
2) "Midfielders go walk about...let them have some space."
3) "Theo just play like normal."
4) "I want to see if we still have the fighting spirit to come back. Today we play well in the second half."
5) "Henri. Those idiots didn't do everything I wanted in the first half. I need to see reactions to a badly trapped ball in the penalty area."
6) "Today we resolve which keeper goes on loan."

AW is undoubtably a genius at getting the best out of his players. All aims fulfilled in one game.

So why are you lot laughing? I'm serious!

Sami didn't quite stick to the first half script and will be rewarded by another meaningless friendly for France.

Capello was told the script and wasn't taken in by Theo and Jack's respective performances. Kieron unfortunately was a second half performer who deserved his call up. They too will disappear for a week of meaningful "This is how you do it the England way" instruction and return all f***ed up for the next few games.

Can't remember ever seeing a 6-5 away win before, so that's something to file away in the memory bank.

Marouane's goal was also worth remembering as were Manny's two. Vela looked impressive... but presumably disappears to Mexico and will be jet lagged for Liverpool.

Last year I was spot on forecasting the side that went to Everton. If I get 7 right for next week, there'll be a star rising in the East. But chasing the star...such fun.
