Nasri: Just as he was showing a bit of form

Samir Nasri's injury was at first glance a bit of a blow. However this Arsenal side has a few players who can play in his position, namely Wilshere, Diaby, Rosicky and maybe Arshavin. Using Walcott is my preferred option as it gives us more width and a direct approach if lacking the guile of Nasri.

Nasri's injury is an annoyance for a player fresh from not playing in the World Cup and showing fine pre-season form. It also explains his below par performance against the scousers last Sunday.

Does anyone else believe that he will be back in a month? My bet is January, not because I take some weird pleasure in my team having key players injured for various lengths of time but the club continuously fails to manage expectations when it comes to player injuries. Remember Bendtner was only supposed to be out for a week initially? When exactly is he expected back now?

It doesn't rain it pours and now our back up for Song is out for the season. Frimpong looked like a real prospect in the Emirates Cup. A fighting spirit and willingness to get really stuck in, something we have lacked in the past. Let’s hope he makes a full recovery and goes on to fulfil his potential.

Can Djourou play the defensive midfield position if/when Song is unavailable? Just a thought... otherwise other backups would be the double Ds - Diaby and Denilson. One is better further up the pitch while the latter lacks pace and physique to play the defensive role.

Still waiting for that defender and goalkeeper. The latest news is it will be Squillachi and Schwarzer. Why are our transfers so drawn out?

A thought for Almunia - who seems a very nice guy but never really had the ability to be a top level goalkeeper.

Fabianski wants to win over the fans. Learning how to catch and make simple decisions would be a good start...

Already some "experts" are questioning whether Wilshere is over-hyped. Give him a break (with our injury record this is a poor choice of words), he is only 18.

Our former skipper is moving across North London. We didn't like him when he was a Gooner, now I feel the fans' reception for Gallas when he returns to the E******s will reflect the pent up frustration of the past few years...

My bet is he will play no more than 10 games until he gets injured....

Farewell Jay Simpson - another product of our famed youth system who wasn't really given the chance, while the likes of Vela and Denilson continuously flatter to deceive. With Eduardo's departure he would have been a good 4th choice striker. But herein lies the problem, Jay needs regular football. Good luck and I hope you score bags of goals for Hull

Will Cesc and RVP start on Saturday? I am going to the game so I hope so...

Given or Schwarzer? Think the majority would say Given but either is better than what we currently have.

Looking forward to see how the Arsenalisation process is going.....

For the first time ever I received an email inviting me to bring additional guests on my membership to the WBA and Bolton games. A sign of the times for sure... but it is a good time to be a red member.
