Rosicky looks to make up for lost time

Rosicky: Good performances so far this season

Although Theo Walcott grabbed the majority of the headlines in Arsenal's demolition of Blackpool, Arsenal fans will have been pleased to see Tomas Rosicky pulling the strings in the Arsenal midfield. The 29-year-old linked up fantastically with Andrei Arshavin and Theo Walcott and was instrumental in most of Arsenal's attacking moves.

Rosicky is still trying to get back to full fitness after missing 18 months of football with a serious hamstring injury and his performance against Blackpool was his best since his return to action. He looked perfectly at home playing just behind Maroune Chamakh, picking up loose balls before setting up his team-mates.

However, he will have to keep performing at that level if he is going to retain his place in this Arsenal side when Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri return to action. Both these players, along with Arshavin, prefer to play in the role Rosicky was employed in against Blackpool but after seeing Rosicky in action it would be hard to drop him now. Arsenal's next game sees them face Blackburn and the match should provide him with another chance to shine. No one will make Blackburn betting tips to win the match, but they will put up a good fight and Rosicky could be instrumental in breaking down their defence.

After the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Rosicky was rated as one of the world's best midfielders but his injury problems mean he hasn't had chance to show what he can do. However, if he can stay fit then this season should provide him with a great opportunity to set the league alight. Arsenal are the Andy Gray betting picks to win the title this season, and they certainly have the players to drive them to glory.

The side will boast one of the most creative midfields this season with Rosicky, Fabregas, Nasri and Arshavin all available for selection. It remains to be seen how Wenger will be able to accommodate four similar players but if he does somehow figure out a system that can fit all four in, then Arsenal will be sure to be able to challenge United and Chelsea for the title this season.
