Reflections on where we are now with the transfer business completed

So it’s the Three Stooges till January at least

Koscielny: Needs to bulk up fast

Again are we found wanting in the transfer market, which probably means the same thing in the league & all the other competitions are involved in. What the hell has to happen to make the manager get in the players that we need? The goalkeeping situation where we needed strengthening most hasn’t been touched so we will have to go the with the three stooges till January at least.

We have bought Squillaci on the defensive front to provide a bit of experienced cover but time will tell if he can cut it . The way Koscielny was brushed aside by El Hadji Diouf in the run up to Blackburn’s equaliser last game showed that he needs to do a lot more bulking up. Imagine him up against Drogba, Ibrahimovic or Balotelli, he’s got no hope.

There were plenty of players available so I’m not going to stand for the bulls**t the boss comes out with when he says "the quality of the market wasn’t very good" as he has done numerous times before. If David Dein was still at the club, where player negotiations were his forte, we would have got some more quality players in. Paying £10million for a defender who two years before was playing in the French second division & is not proven in Europe or in his own league is delusional to say the least. I’m sure the lad will come good over time under Wenger unless he’s another Stepanovs or Reyes.

We needed a quick fix as we are starting to pick up our annual injuries to key players. Eduardo hasn’t been replaced & you can bet that he will come back to haunt us in the Champions League. Bendtner is out till November but we dont exactly miss him for now. I suppose now we have to see how we go till January, but to be honest, we’ll be lucky to still be in contention by then.
