The fallout from Saturday is immense and will probably take some time to shift irrespective of what happened in Braga tonight or will occur at Villa Park on Saturday (a game that stupid me is going to). There’s no point dwelling on what happened v Spurs. We can say the same old things until we’re blue in the face but we know that when you have a go at Wenger he digs his heels on and is so determined to prove he’s right. If he really thinks that this is his best squad ever then he is insulting every single Arsenal supporter in the land. Not a wise thing to do. It is an insult to the likes of Martin Keown, Tony Adams, Patrick Vieira, Ray Parlour, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. Would they have let Saturday happen? Of course they wouldn’t have. They actually cared whereas this team are spineless, clueless and gutless. The team needs ripping up and rebuilding. It needs a new goalkeeper, new central defender, new left back, two new midfielders and another striker.
Fabianski has tried his best and done well but isn’t good enough.
Koscielny is worse than useless.
Alex Song thinks he’s Lionel Messi. I’ve got news for you mate. You’re not.
Denilson jogs for God’s sake! He couldn’t spot danger if it came up and smacked his ugly face.
Glass Van Persie will never give us more than 15 games a season.
And Chamakh seems like Walcott. Great when he doesn’t have time to think but two chances wasted on Saturday.
Everyone at board level is terrified of Wenger and it’s pathetic. Nobody has the guts to stand up to him and say this isn’t working. Nobody is demanding more. It seems as though third or fourth best is good enough for this mob. Well I didn’t chuck away £1,500 to watch this bunch of t*ssers.
Arsene is becoming increasingly deranged by what has happened recently. You only need to look at the footage of him hurling the water bottle on Saturday, which some Spurs fans have gleefully reminded me about at work.
I’ll end by saying something I’ve said before and maintain to this day. We will not win another trophy with Wenger in charge.
P.S. I genuinely think some form of protest needs to be made to the club as I think the stupid board reckon that the fans are happy.
(Ed’s note – A day after this piece was received, the writer sent the following…)
I can only reiterate what I said yesterday. Enough is enough now. Wenger has to go. He has quite clearly lost the dressing room in the same way that George Graham did 15 years ago. What he has done to the club is shameful and embarrassing. I don’t know how the board have got the gall to charge us the prices we pay to watch what I can only describe as utter c**p. I think Wenger has sealed it with his “this is my best squad ever” comment. I’ve stopped listening to him. I don’t care what he says. As you once wrote, there’s talking up your team and then there’s talking bollocks. This really is the nadir for him. He has destroyed everything he ever built and it is a sad end to what has been a brilliant time for him at Arsenal.
