Rotation Makes My Head Spin

Or how to enjoy a successful week if you’re Arsene Wenger

Rotation Makes My Head Spin

Theo: Shouldn’t be spared

I have just seen a quote from Arsene saying he will rotate the squad again tonight at Leeds and once again I'm left scratching my head. Surely Leeds away is a harder game to win than either Wigan or Ipswich at home? His rotation policy will be seriously scrutinised if we put all of our eggs in one basket and don't win the league come May.

I have no problem with rotation itself, if it is two of three players but to make seven or eight changes just doesn't work. We also need to only rest two of our four most creative players in at any one time. For example do not rest Nasri and RVP together or Wilshere and Cesc, as if you rest one from each pair you will still have a cutting edge. Also Theo is only 21 surely he can play more than one game a week and he should start in both the Leeds and Ipswich games to give us the capability to go around their defences if going through the middle fails.

On top of that we cannot afford to keep playing Arshavin in the hope that he might regain his form, especially if that means exiting two cup competitions. I really hope we do not play Denilson either as I hold him responsible for our lack of forward intent every time he plays His tendency to pass back or square is a major frustration, so Song is a must in as many games as possible. I would like to see Aaron Ramsey make his comeback along side either Jack or Cesc if we have to rest central midfielders with Theo one side and Nasri on the other.

If Nasri does not play, put Rosicky there but then definitely play RVP. If we go with Theo and Nasri I would play Chamakh but make sure he plays on the shoulder of the final defender like he did earlier in the season. At centre back we will have no real choice but to play Djourou and Koscielny as playing Song there goes completely against the rotation objective and Bartley is not ready for the Elland Road cauldron. At full back Gibbs should be first choice in my opinion but at right back Eboue is no longer a comfortable option so I would start with a fresh Sagna who is returning from his ban.

If AW plays one of these teams in each of the cup games we will have a better chance of winning and only a few players will play three games in a week: Szczesny, Gibbs, Koschielny, Djourou, Sagna, Rosicky, Cesc, Song, Ramsey, Theo, RVP or Szczesny, Gibbs, Koschielny, Djourou, Sagna, Nasri, Wilshere, Song, Ramsey, Theo, Chamakh. By the time these three games are out of the way we should have a new centre back in place and Squillaci could be fit, so we will have more options there as well. and if things go well we will still be in all four competitions with a real chance to end our trophy drought.

What do you think Bartley has been doing since Jan 2010 playing for Sheffield Utd in the CHAMPIONSHIP where Leeds Utd actually play. At least do some research Where your management skills lie in Football manager or whichever game you play before writing.

Love the fact that Bendtner is not even mentioned. He's such a douche bag. Chamack should be well ahead of him in the pecking order.
