Money in the Bank

But is even that which isn’t being used wisely?

Money in the Bank

Arsenal – Is conservative financial policy going to help win trophies?

(Ed’s note – This offering was submitted before the draw at Newcastle)

What is the point of fans paying £3m per game if AFC insist on sitting on 10 games plus of gross gate receipts in free cash? Someone should start a campaign now for a "free game 8" if we get that far in cup credits this season, as the income from such a match is just going to sit in the bank after all. Mind you, with three Champions League and two FA Cup games at home so far we are pretty unlikely to see more than the paid for seven given Barcelona are the next opposition in Europe.

I am beside myself with anger and despair that all resources available to AW are not deployed to get the best squad out there. The problem is that AW must keep on playing clowns he has signed and bigged up in salary to prove he is correct. Diaby is on £3m per annum for next 5 years - £60k per week. Madness!

There are 14 players out on loan, then…
Diaby
Denilson
Bendtner
Rosickly
Squillaci
Eboue

What percentage of the £120m wage bill is "unproductive"? 35% maybe. Arsenal’s wage bill is two and a half times’ Everton’s. It is bonkers beyond belief. 91 other managers push their boards for resources to improve the squad. AW repels board "pressure" to invest in new talent and rewards players he "owns" mentally. It’s almost incestuous.

Some of us feel that the lack of spending other than wages for crap players is disgraceful and an insult to the fans. And we are really fed up with the lack of ambition and purpose.

The Arsenal fans probably pay for the most expensive seats in world football, and the team on the pitch does not reflect this. The stadium debt is being off to increase the shareholders profits once the club is sold...they are the laughing all the way to the bank.

Interesting but we all know we don't really have any money because of the short and punitive terms of the stadium repayments. The wages are Market driven and hence the players out on loan to gain the experience that we will depend on for the future when we cannot buy the ready made article. We will be n a great position within two years with the new financial rules but the frustration of knowing we are two signings short of a possible clean sweep is frustrating. Keep the faith.

Please get rid of those 3rd class players that make our defense look nothing but a joke. To provide name, they will be Denilson, Diably, Squilacci and Eboue. And get rid of those useless attacking player like Rosicky as well.

You've hit the nail on the head here, very ordinary players on big wages that's why we can't buy top notch players. We can't get rid of these players because they're on long term contracts and no one else will pay them that much. They will be at AFC till their contracts end then will go on frees. All that money wasted on wages and then get nothing for them. Great business? NOT.

I don't know how everybody rates Wenger. You can say whatever you want but in reality Arsenal is now second to MU in EPL tally. Arsenal is considered to be one of the club to have good chance to grab EPL cup this year. And Arsenal are one of the clubs who make profit from football business at England. You may buy many good and high quality players with massive amount of money but it does not warrant you to be successful to grab the cup. Look at MCity n Real Madrid. Where they are now.

I would back Wenger if at the end of the season he got rid of the dross at our club. The likes of Eboue,Almunia,Diaby,Rosicky,Denilshit and Billy Bender are there just picking up huge wages yet delivering what?Bring in 3 or 4 quality players.Give Lansbury and Ramsey the chance that Wilshire was given.Having a good first 11 is no good when the back up is average. With £56 profit and £3m a game coming in there is no excuse for not buying. And dont fucking tell me it would kill the careers of Denilshit Diaby and Bender.Who cares

Rosicky came to the club as an established playmaker in the bundensliga. I knew a bit about him from Dortmund and was excited by his signing. He started well but since his injury has never looked the same and probaly never will be again. He should be sold like the other clowns you've mentioned.

diaby is a good player, he has showed this but because of injuries has never had a real longated crack at the first team. bendtner has also got something there but if by the end of this season he does not start to realise that potential he should go. the other 4 are jus shittttt.

Wenger has lost the plot. Absolute power in any walk of life is a bad thing and with a weak board, that's what Wenger has. Nasri and Djourou injured and our lack of depth is immediately exposed.

Truth is AfC want to pay the stadium off in the next 3 years before spending any major money on the team.

Wenger chose to give average players like Eboue Denilson Diaby and Bender long term contracts on massive wages which they are no way worth than go out and buy quality players. These players are deadwood at the club. They are never going to be good enough to hold down a first team place.Eboue is at the club because he is a joker nothing else.Yet season after season they remain. And it will get worse when Cesc goes after getting fed up with carrying this shite. The truth is as long as Wenger remains manager we will have overpaid average players on the books.Only another 3 years till Wenger goes
