Carling Cup – Even if Arsenal lose, you win

So Wednesday’s game has left us with a float of around £180. A good win against Stoke, albeit one that saw a couple of injuries. I do feel for Cesc, leading your team out in a cup final really is the stuff dreams are made of even if it is thought of as a Mickey Mouse competition. Hopefully RVP can lead us to victory against Birmingham in what will be the first of 3 cup games, and the first of which is likely to be a three part bet over the next couple of weeks. I did mention about withdrawing the funds from your Betfair account but this week we’re joining Unibet and it’s a slightly different system to previous bookies so it’s probably best to stick to using Betfair. With Unibet you deposit £20 and immediately a free £20 bonus is given to you but before you can make a withdrawal the bonus amount + the initial deposit have to be staked over 3 times. (£120) To get the free bet you have to go through this link. Note that the heading ‘Credit Card’ on the deposits page can also be used for debit cards as this is how I deposited my £20.

The sign up process is very simple on Unibet and the default odds are already in decimal, so that’s good for us. On the left hand side under "All betting odds” you’ll see “Carling Cup". Click here and you’ll see that Arsenal are 1.5 to beat Birmingham so click the 1.5 and a new bet slip appears in the top right, place £40 on it. (Make very sure it’s accepted)

At Betfair from the Menu on the left select "football" then "English" then keep going to the “Carling Cup” and select this. You can see that next to Arsenal are blue "Back" options and also a pink "lay" button. You want to lay (i.e. select the pink box) Arsenal for £30 backers’ stake at odds of 1.59. (Making sure it’s accepted) This means you have £17.70 liability if Arsenal win but if they don’t you get +£30.

Overall then:

If Arsenal win we will be +£22.30. That’s the £2.30 profit from the bet and our free bonus of £20.

If Arsenal don’t win then we’ll be +£10 overall. Lose the £40 at Unibet (of which only £20 is ours anyway) and then win £30 at Betfair. So that’s very easy money as it’s just one bet but we’ll have the absence of a trophy.

That’s it for now. If Arsenal win as we expect them to then we go forward with £22 and can look to make further profits out of Unibet, building up our turnover to £120. If they don’t win we simply take the £10 profit and roll on to another bookie next week. But let’s hope we get that first piece of silverware since 2005 as not only will it give us the chance to make some more money it will also breed confidence and, if nothing more, get the pundits to stop going on about it! Remember "Why Gamble when you can Win"?

(Ed’s note, for those who missed the boat and who want to join up a little late to make, say £1000 from £200, we will be running a piece in the near future to get you on board. The principle of this system is using the free bets that bookies offer to persuade you to sign up and then playing the bookies off against each other to extract the free bets as profit. If we actually get the bets right, that only enhances the profit, and the odds are that sometimes we will. It’s a no lose system as long as you stick to it and are not tempted to start placing bets outside of our recommendations. Always remember that you should never gamble more than you can afford to, even if this system if failproof. And the bookies offer you the free bets in the hope that you will be tempted to gamble more. You can beat them by sticking to the system and walking away once we have reached £1000.)

What about the costly commission paid on winning bets? Am I missing something?
