The potential up side of an away win on Sunday

Week 12 Part 2 of our gambling scheme to make a grand. United to win 2-0?

The potential up side of an away win on Sunday

Rooney: Could make a few Gunners some money this weekend

Unfortunately last week’s qualifying bet didn’t come in and we’re currently -£5. Knight and Cahill had a very good game but despite this we still had enough opportunities to get over the finishing line. It was just clear that our lack of confidence was there for all to see - Samir Nasri a prime example of this. Whilst his movement was good he buckled when it came to the finishing which could have seen us earn a little more.

None the less we’ve unlocked the free bet and will make an overall profit from Stan James so it’s time to move onwards to the Manchester United game. I hate to do it, but this time I’m going against the Gunners. Paul Merson mentioned how we might go and grab a win against United now the pressure is off but I still can’t see enough fight in this squad and after United having beaten us in our last three meetings I could definitely see them doing it again. Whilst looking at the odds earlier in the week I couldn’t help but think that at odds of 14 a United 2-0 might be worth a punt but now that the odds have shot up to 19 it’s definitely confirmed my move for this week.

So at Stan James click “football” and then use the drop down menu and find “English Football Coupon” from the drop down menu top left. Go to “60 more bets” besides the “Arsenal v Man United” game (Ed’s note, the number of bets might increase nearer kick off) and select “Correct Score”. Click the Man United win 2-0 and open up the betslip. (Ed’s note – odds had drifted in to 15 when I placed the bet, but as it’s still a decent price, just back whatever it is. You are using your £25 freebet, so it doesn’t matter what the exact odds are as the amount you stake will be fixed) Enter 25 in the stake and be sure to tick the ‘place using free balance’ box below. At the current odds of 19 it gives an estimated return of £450. (£350 at 15)

As ever though we need to lay the result at Betfair to ensure a profit. At Betfair click on “Football” and you’ll see our match is on the homepage so click “View full market” for the “Arsenal v Man Utd” game and select “Correct Score”. To lay the 2-0 (bet listed as 0-2) at Betfair the current odds are 20 (19.5 for me – Ed) so I clicked the pink button and laid with £12, giving a liability of £228. (I placed £12 too, so my liability is only £222. VERY IMPORTANT - Depending on what your betfair balance is, you may need to deposit enough funds to cover the liability, but you can withdraw this as soon as the match is over, as you can either get it from Betfair if United fail to win 2-0, or from Stan James if the 2-0 away win occurs. This is just a matter of placing the money short term, ideally from Moneybookers, although you may deposit from a credit or debit card you have linked to your betfair account, or a paypal account)

So this leaves us with the following outcomes...

- Man U win 2-0: +£222 (+£450 at Stan James, - £228 at Betfair) (+£128 if you get the odds I did – the market obviously fluctuates)

- Man U fail to win 2-0: +£12 (-£25 FREE BET at Stan James, +£12 at Betfair)

You may have remembered I was aiming for at least a £10 overall profit from Stan James but I can’t quite help going for it when I know the Gunners have nothing left to play for. With our loss of £5 last week it still leaves us with a guaranteed £7 profit or a huge £217 from Stan James. So if it’s not an Arsenal win then at least a Man U 2-0 will bring in some serious bucks...

Remember, “Why gamble when you can win!”

Have to say that I've been following this for a few weeks now - missed the start, but got the hang of it and joined in - and have made a tidy profit so far. Was sceptical at first, but you've delivered every time. Great stuff - thanks to Russell and also the Online Gooner for running it. Makes a change from the usual moaning!
