Arsene: Our very own Jedward?

A couple of years ago I was watching the X-Factor when the Grimes brothers aka Jedward got voted through to the next round and I was cussing about them on the way to the fridge to get a beer when I had an epiphany... what if I don't hate them ?

What if I stop wasting negative energy disliking them and start sticking up for them instead? Well kids it worked. One minute I was full of anger and angst and the next I was full of joy and had a big gormless smirk on my face as I clapped and cheered whenever they stumbled through a tone deaf rendition of whatever song they happened to be murdering.

OK I got some strange looks off my wife and kids who were all in full hate mode and it took a little while for them to latch on to where I was coming from, but after they had got used to me being happy watching the two clueless gibbons stomping about. Everybody else caught on and turned hate into joyous wonderment at the marvellous Jedward boys.

This year they were replaced by the spectacular Wagner who had us all in stitches as he shouted and clomped his way through various terrible weird interpretations of classic songs... and lo and behold it happened again on Sunday after the debacle against Villa. I'd been in full rant mode against Wenger and his hapless bunch of clockwork clowns... BING... a lightbulb switched on above my head... and I will no more question our manager. He is our leader, and I will leave my brains in a bucket by the turnstiles as I enter the stadium, never again will I doubt him... he is my Jedward... and it is much easier blindly following him and his merry band of boys than getting angry.

My mates said they preferred the angry and ranting BigNoseGooner. But I replied in a calming voice with a huge grin and a vacation expression - "He used to be good and will be again "

no.2 is Perry Groves...the old man emails me from Britland and tells me that AW is looking at two clowns from Lorient....small French League club AGAIN. Before I start laughing in panic and then quietly and slowly do my nut, can any of you lot confirm if this is true?

I like the its so bad its funny idea. Unfortunatley i am still at the angry stage at the moment but hope to break through that into hysteria shortly while waiting for arsenal transfer news this summer. Although I did find myself laughing as I duly paid my season ticket money over recently!

I agree with you CD. i think its the manner in which AFC play, conduct themselves as a club and team, choke, capitulate, etc that is making us all sick. spurs are far worse off than us in many respects but their fans appear to feel better than we do - ow does that work for a start ? well let me tell you its because they tend to win and lose well if thats possible, they have a manager who talks straight and who gets on with it and his team reflect his character. if Arsenal had lost at chelsea over a goal line decision then we would never have heard the end of it from tortured soul AW. our players all moan too much, fall over too much and have no bottle and thats why we all (90%) dont feel good anymore because we are not proud of them or the manager.

"...leave my brains in a bucket by the turnstiles..." is the key statement here. Wenger is a spent force. He won't win another trophy.

I take your point, but speaking for myself I don't want my club to be a laughing stock with the butt of all jokes re choking. Like most football fans, the club is an extension of me, and my moods and feelings of well being are closely intertwined with how my club is performing. Hence those jokes and the general frustrations I have with AW do affect me personally. I know that I should not take it all to heart, as it's only a game of football, but try as I may, and I have been trying quite a lot recently, I simply can't switch off. I don't think what I have just written is a million miles way from what most fans think, and hence unlike you most of us simply can't just laugh off AW inept management!
