"That sums it all up"

Denilson’s words show the state Arsenal has been allowed to descend to

Going because he doesn’t like the word ‘forward’ on the new crest?

I am sure like many Gooners, I laughed at headlines yesterday morning which went somthing like "Gunners shocked by Denilson!" However a little reflection made me have a re-think. At the start of the 2007/8 season we had what appeared to be an embarrassment of riches in central midfield. Fabregas, Gilberto, Flamini, Diarra, Diaby and bottom of the list Denilson.

By the end if the season which had seen the first of the now familiar collapses and us manage to snatch defeat from the draws of victory in the last eight of the Champions League at Anfield, we had for various reasons seen the last of Diarra, Gilberto and Flamini. Following the disappointing demise and loss of three experienced midfield pugilists we all quite reasonably expected reinforcements and many said Alonso was on his way.

But no. OGL pronounced buying such a player would kill Diaby and principally Denilson. Due to injuries to Fabregas and Diaby, the first league game of the season saw Denilson and Eboue in central midfield and a horrible one nil reverse. In three years Denilson has gone further backwards that one of his passes and Diaby has limped on the spot.

Now OGL’s great hope Denilson is off proclaiming himself a winner in a sea of losers! When I think about the last three years at Arsenal, as a commentator once said as the legendary Mr Arsenal and true winner buccaneered forward in 1998, "that sums it all up!"

Who's going to be next to want to leave and why? Almunia and Fabianski because we keep giving cheap goals away? Eboue and Arshavin because we drop points by giving away stupid pens and free kicks? Perhaps Bendtner's Dad will say his son wants to leave because he wants CL football and is fed up with Arsenal missing chances? The only one who ain't going nowhere is M. Wenger who at £6m pa for not having to win anything is sitting pretty.

This idiot is a joke,he should look in the mirror and he see one the reasons we gone pot-less for 6yrs.To think that this is one of Wenger's prodigy's which he refused to buy as it would ''kill'' his career HAHAHA.Like already stated w*****s like him have been pampered by Wenger with lucrative contracts,he wouldn't have got anywhere else, protected from criticism and daily infusion of how great there are when in fact there s**t.Good riddance to him as we would not have to endure his sideways passing when a forward pass for goal scoring chance beckons, how he is easily forced off the ball by a gust of wind or how he skips back instead going with a player who runs into our box and scores....thank god when he goes!!!!!

"Fozzy's Mate" never fails to enlighten and entertain. If I miss it in these pages, I get it with both barrels at the pre-match briefing at The Tavern. The thought of a Deckchair/Ebouseless midfield partnership causes me more nervous twitches than the contents of a Totterington dugout. Arsene, your arrogance has cost us 3rd place, so I am going to have to endure a miserable summer fretting prior to the two CL qualifying games without Cesc (gone) and Wilshere (rested). Do you know what I am thinking will be our midfield partnership for these two crucial season-defining matches? Step forward Messrs Deckchair & Ebouseless. I have already started to commence my Gooner Survey for 2011 and am really stuck on Question 2: Most Disappointing Player 2010/2011. They have only given me two slots so it's a particularly tough choice.

Spot on mate, I laughed so much when I read the shocking news : Denilson rocks Arsenal. I hope some club is silly enough to spend some good money for him. Not his fault to have hanged around for so long not doing much, but as long as he goes, then good luck to him

Yes ! Indeed it does sum it all up. Or to be more exact it sums Arsene Wenger up. But then as he pointedly stated this week - without any supposed irony - finding anyone who could teach him anything about any aspect of football management, is nigh on impossible. Wenger might not be much of a Manager any more but he does do a fine line in black comedy.

Just goes to show how protected, pampered and precious Denilson feels, as AW has told him he is the best thing since sliced bread. Players like him live in a bubble where no one is told the reality of the situation, and hence they become as deluded as Wenger himself into believing they are God's gift to football. Unbelievable, this could only happen with AW's Arsenal. I did not know whether to laugh or cry, as to me it simply highlights the utter mess Wenger has made with his project, when our worst player by a country mile can come out with a statement like that!
