Here’s a prediction comp I’d like to run through onlinegooner, and I’ve even been foolish enough to offer to administer the thing.
It’s based on the restructuring (or otherwise) of the Arsenal squad this summer. You simply have to predict the following –
1. Which of the existing first team squad will not be at the club after the close of the transfer window? I am only looking at players that played as least five matches for the first team in 20010/11, so for example, you ignore Jens Lehmann.
2. Which of the younger players currently on the periphery of the first team squad will be given a proper squad number next season – by which I mean 32 or lower?
3. And finally, who will be bought (or arrive on a free transfer)?
Entries will close when the first in or out occurs – which could be as soon as June 1st, but we will keep entries open until then. The first prize is a ten issue subscription to the Gooner and a t-shirt of your choice courtesy of goonershirts, so if you want to go in the hat for those you need to email me your answers at me at [email protected]. of course you are welcome to leave your answers in the comments section below, but as posters there are untraceable, you won’t be in contention for the prizes.
I will adjudicate, and in the event of a tie, the entry received earliest will win. Remember, this is not a competition about your ideal squad but an attempt to guess what Arsene Wenger will do in reality.
The winner will be announced once the transfer window closes at the end of August. Good luck!
