Arsenal have three of the best top 10 young talents in world football, according to online scouting database Football Talent Scout.
Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba have all been named as some of the top young talents on the planet – which bodes well for the future for the north Londoners.
The survey lists 19-year-old Saliba in tenth place, with starlet Saka a slot higher in ninth, with the prodigious 18-year-old Martinelli sixth on the list of world football’s top 50 teenagers.
The talented Saka and Martinelli could save Arsenal millions in the transfer market if they continue to make progress and stay at the club long term to boost chances of silverware under Arteta in the future.
Saka’s emergence has been stark considering he was playing for Freddie Ljungberg’s U21 academy side in the Checkatrade Trophy last season, while Brazilian teen Martinelli has excelled after arriving from Sao Paolo side Ituano after playing in the Campeonato Paulista this time last year.
While much is expected of defender Saliba when he joins Arsenal from Saint Etienne imminently - after signing for the Gunners last summer, only to be loaned back for a year.
The listing is a boost to the Gunners, struggling with finances before the coronavirus pandemic halted football – with the lack of matchday and TV revenues during lockdown prompting the club to ask the Mikel Arteta’s squad to take a 12.5 per cent pay cut – with the vast majority agreeing.
The club are on the lookout for cut-price bargains while aiming to land talented youngsters such as Dennis Gyamfi and George Lewis.
However, it is the young tyros already at the club in Saka and Martinelli that provide real hope for the future for Arsenal supporters - as Arteta’s squad aim to finish as high up the table as and when the 2019-20 Premier League season resumes.
