The final stretch of the Premier League is here - the distance so far

We are at the midway point and beyond in the English Premier League, and with thirteen games left to go, it is Manchester City that has reared its head as frontrunners after a stellar and record-breaking streak of wins.

Pep's men are on a 17-game unbeaten run, dating back to November, and have claimed thirteen victories on the trot. An in-form Guardiola side has always shown the ability to look like a well-oiled machine, but to pull that off in the final stretch of the season is another level of class.

The Citizens are ten points clear of second-placed and city rivals, Manchester United. As always, the competition has been stiff, and there have been some surprises, some as expected, and lots of entertainment. Enough to keep the eyes of fans and pundits alike glued to their screens while making use of their betting apps UK to cash in on all the league's action.

The Red Devils have had themselves a Jekyll and Hyde season, a theme that has become recurrent and common for the more popular Manchester team.

After a poor start to the season, Solskjaer's men have found another gear, led by midfield talisman Bruno Fernandes and timely contributions from the supporting cast like Rashford, Martial, and Pogba.

The positives will be there come the end of the season, but United, know they could have and should have done better and will be looking once again to the upcoming season with optimism and Europe on their minds. The team sits level on points with third-placed Leicester City and faces Chelsea in their next game.

Beating Manchester City was supposed to be the exclamation mark for Tottenham, a sign that they were ready to make their push in the second half of the season.

Since that marquee win, however, Mou's men have managed a measly three wins in the last fourteen games, including just one over the previous five games. An injury to Harry Kane was a significant setback, but the team overall has been struggling, and it has not been for lack of effort. Looking up from ninth place on the table, the North London side are nine points back from fourth-placed West Ham and will be hoping to turn things around starting with Burnley on Sunday.

Liverpool started the season still on a high from their championship win, but injuries and general lack of form have derailed the Reds to sixth place and looking to continue in a downward spiral.

Team leader and captain Virgil Van Dijk suffered a season-ending injury earlier on, and the bug spread to the rest of the backline forcing Jurgen Klopp to resort to makeshifts and emergency buys. The Reds have the quality to turn their fortunes around but will need more luck and a tad bit of cutting edge to find themselves in the European places.

West Ham has been a pleasant surprise led by a resurgent Jesse Lingard, who is finding the net in all sorts of ways, while Leicester is establishing themselves as a powerhouse in the top flight.
