Arsenal boss Arteta set for whopping £9m pay rise to nearly £20m a year

Arsenal are hopeful they can extend Mikel Arteta’s contract this summer.

Popular Arteta could be in line for a huge pay rise with the Gunners aiming to offer him a whopping new deal.

The North Londoners boss has only 12 months remaining on his existing deal - with the club looking to tie him down on another long term contract.

To do so, Arsenal are ready to offer their biggest managerial deal ever - which will see Arteta move to become one of the Premier League's highest-paid coaches.

Pep Guardiola earns a huge £20million a season at Manchester City.

However, Arsenal are ready to bump Arteta’s salary closer to that figure - more than doubling the Basque's £9m-a-season wage he already earns.
