Arsenal U18s vs Manchester United U18s: FA Youth Cup quarter-final preview

The Emirates plays hosts to an exciting academy clash on Friday - find out more

Adam Birchall's Arsenal U18s host Manchester United U18s in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final under the lights in N5 on Friday evening.

The Young Red Devils, including former Gunners striker Obi-Chido Martin, will be the visitors for the 7pm kick-off as the young guns aim to seal a spot in the last four.

Birchall's side reached this stage of the competition by beating Hertford Town 4-3 in a third round thriller, prior to knocking out Queens Park Rangers on penalties in the fourth round, before winning 2-1 against Fulham in the fifth round.

To get to this stage, Adam Lawrence’s side - who won three trophies last season - beat Coventry City, Preston North End and Chelsea in this season's competition.

“This is an amazing opportunity,” Nick Cox, Director of Academy, told the official Manchester United website.

“We’ve had regular opportunities in recent years to play at Old Trafford and it’s of great importance for our boys to become familiar with our own ground. Practising in an arena where you’ll play games if you reach our first team is within our control and we do that regularly.

“We don’t quite as frequently get the opportunity to play in Premier League stadiums away from home. We’ve had some lovely experiences in the National League Cup and EFL Trophy, playing at first-team stadiums, and that’s great, but to play at another Premier League venue is an exciting one and a development opportunity.”

Friday's eeagerly-awaited clash kicks-off at 7pm at the Emirates and there are a limited number of tickets available, priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.
