Arsenal U21 Play-off fixture confirmed
Arsenal Academy Play-off: Boreham Wood's Meadow Park will host the knock-out clash: Find out more
Last season saw the introduction of a new play-off format in Premier League 2, which means that the Arsenal Academy U21 team's end of our season will be determined with a round of 16 clash at Boreham Wood.
At the end of the 2023-24 campaign, Arsenal U21s eased past Manchester United in the round of 16 before losing to Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
This term, the club's talented youngsters qualified for the play-offs by finishing eighth in the division, while Newcastle were ninth.
This means Arsenal's U21s Premier League 2 play-off will be at home to Newcastle United, and will take place at 7pm on Friday, April 25.
It’s free for supporters to attend this fixture in Borehamwood on Friday night - so why not support your club at all levels and come along to Meadow Park and start the weekend in style!
Preview:
Last time Arsenal U21s met Newcastle was back in February, when we won 4-1 on a chilly evening at Meadow Park thanks to goals from Sebastian Ferdinand, Khayon Edwards, Osman Kamara and Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand.
Just like Newcastle, we ended this season with 10 wins from 20 matches, but we finished a single point ahead of the Magpies thanks to one extra draw and a defeat fewer.
We also both lost our final game of the season as we fell to a 4-3 defeat at West Brom while Newcastle lost 4-0 at Manchester City.
