Blackstenius in for Russo as Arsenal Women take on Manchester City

Stina Blackstenius will start upfront for Arsenal Women against Manchester City, with both sides kicking off their Women’s Super League campaigns.

Blackstenius replaces Alessia Russo in the starting lineup, having scored two late goals to help Arsenal beat City back in May.

Leah Williamson is not involved in the squad due to a concussion protocol.

Caitlin Foord and Frida Maanum are back in the side, replacing Beth Mead and Rosa Kafaji from Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to BK Hacken in Gothenburg.

Arsenal legend Vivianne Miedema starts against her former side.

Arsenal: Zinsberger, McCabe, Codina, Wubben-Moy, Fox; Cooney-Cross, Little; Caldentey, Maanum, Foord; Blackstenius.

Arsenal subs: van Domselaar, Reid, Wienroither, Walti, Kuhl, Godfrey, Kafaji, Mead, Russo.
