When Arsenal drew RC Lens in the 1998-99 Champions League group stages it soon became apparent that there would a serious kit clash between the teams.
As a result, Nike, supplied Arsenal with a one-off blue shirt for the game between the English Premier League champions and the Ligue 1 side from northern France.
The match took place on November 25, 1998, at Wembley Stadium. Although technically a tird kit, it was paired with shorts and socks from the regular home strip and only ever worn once.
The shirt was never released commercially and remains a Holy Grail among shirt collectors. Any that have found their way to auction have been known to fetch upwards of £6,000.
