Arsenal aim to capitalise on Liverpool's draw at Forest by beating Spurs in the North London derby at the Emirates
Prologue
Bar the 3-1 victory at Brentford on New Year's Day, it's been a miserable 2025 for Arsenal.
William Saliba getting sent-off after a ridiculous decision that cost the Gunners victory at Brighton was bad enough, prior to Mikel Arteta's side losing in two domestic cup competitions.
The frustrating FA Cup defeat that came at the hands of ten man Manchester United followed the disipriting 2-0 loss to Newcastle in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
And yet. If Arsenal can beat Spurs at the Emirates on Wednesday evening, the red and white half of North London will only be four points behind Arnie Slot's Anfield outfit - whose game in hand is at the bearpit that is Goodison Park in the side's rearranged Merseyside derby next month.
All of which means Wednesday promises to be another mouth-watering North London derby.

Arsenal vs Tottenham team news
Arsenal
Arsenal lost Gabriel Jesus with a season ending ACL injury after the in-form striker was sadly stretchered off against United leaving Arteta short of attackers, with Bukayo Saka out for the next few months with a serious hamstring injury, while teenage prodigy Ethan Nwaneri is missing with a muscular issue.
Jorginho and Jurrien Timber are expected to be fit for selection, with Raheem Sterling set to be included in an Arsenal Premier League starting XI for only the third time since arriving on loan from Chelsea back in August.
Spurs
Tottenham also have big injury problems, and will once again be without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario.
Antonio Kinsky will get his first taste of a north London derby in goal, and Dominic Solanke, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski should all return to the starting lineup having come off the bench against Tamworth.
