Arsenal right-back Laura Wienroither has joined Manchester City on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Austrian defender has been short of game time this season, with Renée Slegers hinting to the Gooner Fanzine yesterday that she will be moving on.
Wienroither suffered an ACL injury against Wolfsburg in 2023, and has played second fiddle to Emily Fox, who joined the Gunners in January last year.
The right-back has been omitted from changed Arsenal starting lineups in recent cup matches, with teenage centre-back Katie Reid preferred to her on the right side instead.
Wienroither told Manchester City's website: “I’m really happy to be here. I’m relieved everything’s done now and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with people who trust and believe in me.
“I just hope I can give the trust back. When you have the chance to sign for a big club like City, I don’t think you have to think a lot about it, at least I didn’t."
Arsenal completed the deadline day signing of left-back Jenna Nighswonger earlier on Thursday afternoon.
