The results of testing on Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum, who collapsed during Sunday’s Conti Cup final, have found “no obvious cardiac causes.”
Maanum had undergone testing and support from Arsenal’s medical team, before the results were reviewed by two leading cardiologists.
The 24-year-old has been fitted with a heart-monitoring device, and will undergo a “progressive return to train protocol.”
She will stay with Arsenal for the remainder of the international break, rather than joining up with Norway.
Arsenal stated that once Maanum has been monitored for a week-long period, her normal training will be reviewed and a decision on returning to play will be made.
Credit to the communications team at Arsenal Women who have been transparent and helpful with their updates on Frida Maanum from the incident itself and the days since- greatly appreciated ???
