Player Ratings: Arsenal 1-0 Ipswich Town - Gunners go second
Find out who impressed for Arsenal after Kai Havertz's goal moved the Gunners into second spot
Player Ratings:
David Raya: 7/10 - Bar a scare during a few shaky opening seconds when Liam Delap couldn’t turn Leif Davis’ deflected ball into the net, the Gunners netminder had very little to do throughout
Jurrien Timber: 7.5/10 - Needed to calibrate his forward passes slightly better
William Saliba: 7.5/10 - Stylish with steel, solid and sleek
Gabriel: 7.5/10 - Davis’ early deflected cross caught the King of Brazil flat-footed but Delap failed to get enough purchase on the ball. Second half header somehow bounced over the bar
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 8/10 - Telling that Arteta opted for the 18-year-old at left-back, instead of the now fit again Riccardo Calafiori – with the correct choice underlined by the talented teen’s composure in tight spaces
Declan Rice: 7.5/10 - Fired narrowly over midway through the first half
Martin Odegaard: 7.5/10 - Had a powerful strike tipped over by Muric after a tricky run and shot in the box
Leandro Trossard: 7/10 - Excellent driving run and cross for Kai Havertz to slot home from close range to put the Gunners ahead by the No19 who Arteta opted to employ to fill the injured Bukayo Saka’s place.
Jesus: 6.5/10 - Not as influential as he had been before Christmas came
Gabi Martinelli: 7/10 - Lively
Kai Havertz: 8/10 - Swept home from close range for his 12th goal of the season to put the Gunners ahead even if the Ipswich defence was nowhere to be seen. Never stopped working hard for the cause
Substitutes:
Mikel Merino: 7/10 - Switched with Jesus on 72 minutes
Thomas Partey: 7/10 - Replaced Declan Rice late on
To the handful of people who think it is hilarious to shout "Who" at substitutes coming upon, at least have enough knowledge to know that Harry Clarke played for Arsenal Academy
