David Raya (6/10) – David had little to do, yet displayed great distribution, picking out Havertz nicely on a few occasions.

Jurrien Timber (6.5/10) – He’s having a tremendous season off the back of his ACL injury and looked generally solid throughout. He was picking up the ball in some more advanced spaces, even putting a dangerous ball in from the left-hand byline. He was dispossessed after some confusion with Kiwior, leading to a shaky moment for the duo.

Jakub Kiwior (6/10) – Slotted in well despite the lack of game time, especially on his less familiar right side of defence. He was composed on the ball, coolly sitting down the Zagreb number 9 in the first half – He was dispossessed in the 33rd minute leading to a tense moment for the Arsenal defence – but later redeemed himself by getting his mate Timber out of trouble.

Gabriel Magalhães (6/10) – A typically solid display at the heart of defence from Arsenal’s number 6, winning all his ariel duels. Missed a good chance from a corner in the 14th min, but hey, you can’t score ‘em all!

Oleksandr Zinchenko (5.5/10) – Like Kiwior, came into this match with little to no game time of late. Inverted regularly, linking up well with Martinelli. Produced some nice dribbles and kept things ticking.

Jorginho (5.5/10) – Arsenal’s deepest midfielder – for a player of his experience, the Italian gave the ball away too many times, and occasionally slowed things down – He played a beautiful pass to Havertz for a great chance in the first half, albeit appearing offside in the replays. Had a better second half.

Declan Rice (8/10) – Man of the Match – Popped up with the game’s opening goal, and what an incredible finish it was on the half volley. Produced excellent set-piece delivery all night and was absolutely everywhere. This looked like the Rice of last season. Deserved a second but headed just wide after a cross from Nwaneri.

Martin Odegaard (6.5/10) – He has shown more of his best form of late, but this was a quieter one from the Skipper. Played a sumptuous ball to Rice for a great chance in the first half, and found himself in the right place at the right time to tap in from Trossard’s late cross.

Raheem Sterling (6.5/10) – Looked far more confident with a string of starts now under his belt. Had a tough battle with Zagreb’s left back but remained persistent looking to take him on regularly – slow to pull the trigger for a great chance in the first half. Subbed off in the 58th for Ethan Nwaneri.

Gabriel Martinelli (8/10) – Easily Arsenal’s most dangerous of the front 3. Possibly his best performance so far this season. Gabi caused havoc down the left, producing the assist for Kai’s header in the 2nd half, and the pre-assist for Rice’s goal.

Kai Havertz (7/10) – Played a key part in the first goal, providing a perfect one touch lay-off for Rice’s goal and claimed one for himself with a perfectly cushioned header to beat Nevistic – held the ball up well all night, and worked tirelessly to put pressure on the keeper.

Subs Used:

Thomas Partey (5) – Subbed on in the 58th, keeping things tight out of position at right back.

Ethan Nwaneri (6.5) - Subbed on in the 58th and made the greatest impact of all the substitutes, immediately displaying trickery and causing issues for the opposition’s left back. He did extremely well to nudge the defender off the ball and simultaneously keep it in play after a ball was played over the top, later putting it on a plate for Rice, with the midfielder just placing his header wide. Showed his defensive qualities tracking back and putting in a clean tackle during a Zagreb counter.

Leandro Trossard (6) – Subbed on in the 74th for Havertz. Initially looked quiet, yet made a terrific run to reach Gabriel’s lofted pass, and with a little help from a Zagreb deflection, put a nice ball into the box for Odegaard to finish.

Kieran Tierny (5.5) – Subbed on in the 74th for Zinchenko and showed exactly why he’s a fan favourite, displaying urgency from the off. Played a nice driven cross to Odegaard, much like his one against Spurs.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji (5) – The youngster had little time to make an impact, but what a moment it was for the 22-year-old making his first-team debut.
