Mikel Merino popped up with two late goals to seal a vital victory - find out who impressed with our Player Ratings
Player Ratings:
David Raya: 7/10 - Gathered Wilfred Ndidi’s stinging shot early on. Also kept out Bobby Decordova-Reid’s second half effort on the way to a clean sheet
Jurrien Timber: 7/10 - Solid and combative as ever as part of battling backline that kept important clean sheet
Gabriel: 7/10 - Reliable at the back and dangerous in attack during Gunners set pieces
William Saliba: 7/10 - Engaged in an absorbing duel with Foxes warhorse Jamie Vardy
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 7.5/10 - A threat going forward as much as a stable presence along the backline. Somebhnow kept the ball from going on the line after Decordova-Reid's cross. Surprisingly deft in the air too
Thomas Partey: 5/10 - A disjointed performance saw the defensive midfielder cede possession too easily
Declan Rice: 6/10 - First half header flew wide. Provider of a series of crosses that couldn’t be capitalised upon
Martin Odegaard: 6.5/10 - Worked hard to find space and create chance for the Gunners erstwhile attack.
Raheem Sterling: 5/10 - Lively but ineffective being replaced on 66 minutes by Mikel Merino
Leandro Trossard: 5/10 - Just 14 touches in the first half included fluffing Odegaard’s deliciously lifted through ball. Provided assist for Merino's second
Ethan Nwaneri: 9/10 - The only bright spark in a dire game, as the talented 17-year-old attempted to find space. Worked hard on his defensive duties too. Clipped the bar after the break before thudding the post. Such confidence, and a wonderful technique even in the tightest of spaces. Proivided cross for Merino's vital opener
Substitutes:
Mikel Merino: 10/10 - Switched for the underwhelming Sterling on 66 minutes before becoming the Gunners unlikely hero with two late goals as the visitors clinched a late victory to keep the pressure on leaders Liverpool by cutting the gap to a mere four points
Jorginho: 6/10 - On for the disappointing Partey on 76 minutes
Riccardo Calafiori: 6/10 - Replaced Lewis-Skelly in a double switch with 14 minutes remaining
