Some feel good thoughts for those that condemn The Gooner as being too negative

Diaby: Could he turn out better than PV4?

I hope I’m not speaking too soon but I think it’s a good time to be an Arsenal fan again. The win at Newcastle took the tally to 21 matches without defeat in all competitions, (Ed’s note – well, if you forget the actual scoreline at Roma!) that’s just under halfway off the mark of the "Untouchables" 49 game unbeaten run.

There is much more confidence in the squad, especially since the arrival of Arshavin. Cesc will be back after the international break which will again feel like a new signing. RVP's rallying interview on Arsenal TV last week summed it all up, "Cesc is the hearbeat of the team" and I loved the way he stated his desire to win the Champions League not just for himself but for the club. If we had this attitude back in August, I think it would be the Mancs and the Scousers chasing us.

The re-emergence of Diaby has come at the right time too. His performances in recent weeks have been excellent and it’s a real pleasure to watch him. I personally think that if he stays with us long-term, he will be better than Vieira. Diaby has more pace and can play across the midfield or even as a second striker and he will only get better game by game if he stays fit, like RVP and I believe he will save Wenger a fortune in the transfer market.

Slightly changing the subject a bit: Harry Redknapp and his big mouth again. Questioning the decision of the England manager Fabio Capello to call up Ledley King. Harry's just bitter that he didn’t get the job and has taken a pop at Capello every time there’s an England game. It’s getting pretty boring now Harry. You must understand that compared to the England manager, you are a small boy and you won’t win many arguments against him.

And finally, congratulations to the Youth team for their exploits in the FA Youth Cup. I really hope they can go one better than two years ago and win it. Their performance at Sh*te Hart Lane proved that there is now a winning mentality instilled into the players at all levels of the club, it was sensational. If we keep these boys together - most of whom are English too, we will be a major force once again. They are playing football beyond their years and that can only be a good thing. The players who I have high hopes for are Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Rhys Murphy, Fran Merida, Sanchez Watt, Giles Sunu, Kyle Bartley, Henri Lansbury and of course "Lightning Jack Wilshire". Please pass this on to Steve Bould as he’s done a great job whilst at the helm.

The future looks bright? It’s red and white.

We’ve sown the seeds, not let’s sit back and watch them grow.
