Some belated reaction to last week’s events at Stamford Bridge when Barcelona were the visitors

Drogba: Disgrace himself

After the horror of our Champions League exit on Tuesday night, there was only one thing that could really cheer me up and that was of course for Chelsea to lose. To be honest as the board went up for the added time I feared the worst for Barca, but was jubilant when they did level the scores.

I hate to admit it that I did feel slightly bad for Chelsea, but in many ways they deserve it, I felt that the referee had let himself down in turning down what could have been at least three penalties maybe four. But what occurred after the fourth penalty appeal was turned down was the disgrace to English football.

Firstly Michael Ballack, he cannot get away with chasing the ref and what looks to be putting his hands on him. If the ref has made a decision then you need to respect it (on a small note good to see the FA’s respect campaign is doing well, not).

But that is not the worst, after the final whistle for all the Chelsea players to surround the ref is even more of a disgrace, including the England captain, who according to so many Chelsea fans, is not given the respect he deserves. Tell me this Chelski fans - how can you have the England captain who is looked up to by so many young people as their idol wagging his finger at a referee, what sort of message is that sending?

But to make matters even worse, Didier Drogba decides to swear on national television. This cannot be allowed, think of how many young kids may have been watching this. Its bad enough to hear it once but then Sky in their wisdom decide to show it twice, and then apologise after the second screening.

It is understandable that he is upset, but he must have known that a camera usually means TV, or is that a bit hard for Didier to understand. There have been rumours that he could get a six month ban from UEFA. Personally I think that Chelsea should be excluded from the Champions League next season. Is what happened on Wednesday night really the image of the English game that you want the rest of the world to see?

Excluding them for a year will make them understand that they cannot behave like that, and send children the wrong message.
