Some feedback from two readers who agreed with yesterday’s piece on the ITV commentator

Tyldesley: Just don’t mention ‘that night in Barcelona’ – please

Okay, two emails received yesterday after we posted the piece on Clive Tyldesley’s biased commentating during the Arsenal v Celtic match.

I have just read the "Clive Tyldesley does my head in" piece by Anthony Dolan and I agree 100 per cent. It p***ed me off so much that I wrote an email to ITV after the game (whatever good it will do), but I thought you might like to see the response.

And here is the email mentioned followed by ITV’s reply…

I have just watched the Arsenal v Celtic Champions League Qualifier on ITV1. The commentary on offer should be of a neutral stance, favouring neither club. However in this programme’s case, the in-studio guests and actual commentary were biased heavily in favour of Celtic.

I am afraid this is grossly unprofessional and I urge you to analyse and rectify this issue immediately.

To follow, another email on the subject received by us at onlinegooner.com

I have never heard such biased views against a team in all my 34 years on planet Earth. I’m just sick and tired of it, enough is enough. Every time that man spoke I had to cringe. I know I should not let it get to me, but it was hard, very hard to take and why... because these people should be professional. I mean, we are talking about ITV here.

Anthony Dolan wrote something on your site that just got me going. I sent a complaint to ITV, the first time I have ever written a complaint to anyone in my life. That was how bad it was.

Please get more Gooners on your wonderful site to do the same. Only in numbers will they do something about this. If we don’t, I fear it will disrupt our players. They do read what the press has to say trust me, they have time on their hands and the internet.
