Can’t wait to get back to business tomorrow

Stan Collymore – Belt up (but don’t belt any girlfriends, ok?)

I still can’t believe that we left Old Trafford empty-handed. Everything but luck and the ref went for us. For any away side it really is the "Theatre of Dreams". How we didn’t get a penalty when Arshavin was clearly chopped down is beyond me, but this is Old Trafford. It has to stop. It’s on the border of corruption. Maybe Mike Dean has taken over from Mike Riley as Manchester’s favourite Ref, although this time it’s a scouser rather than a Yorkshireman.

We really should have wrapped the game up before half-time. I know it was a dodgy penalty and an unfortunate own goal but we had more chances than them and played them off the park but in the future people will remember the result. The international break couldn’t have come at a worse time. The Premiership is just starting to get interesting, we were on a bit of a roll and it’s a shame that we have to wait two weeks for our next game to get the Manure defeat out of our system.

But what better place to do it than Citeh. Providing we don’t get any injuries and Cesc gets fit and we pass like we did at United, I can see us beating them. You would think our defence can keep Adebayor quiet and that our strikers can give Toure a hard time. A win there would more than make up for Old Trafford's unfortunate events and shut the haters up. I can’t believe that we’ve been written off. Yes we lost but we’re six points behind the leaders with a game in hand, the league finishes in May not early September. I would gladly take the points situation we’re in now around April/May time.

I’m not entirely surprised that Wenger didn’t bring anyone in on deadline day. Maybe he’s waiting till January or maybe the Ade and Toure money has been used to consolidate the payments on the stadium. Only Wenger knows.

I think Eduardo being given a two match ban for alledged diving is unacceptable. Yes he fell over but it was the ref’s decision to give the spot kick. Even if he didn’t give the penalty we would have still beaten Celtic, so I don’t know why they are behaving like 5 year olds. A fine or a warning would have been enough. It’s not like he’s done it before. If he gets a two match ban then Drogba should get 10 matches. Ronaldo maybe six months. (Ed’s note – whilst we are on the subject of Eduardo – please vote in the current online referendum on the right hand column of our frontpage as I am using the result in the new issue of The Gooner due out for the Wigan game. Thanks.)

What made me laugh was the universally feared Stan Collymore sticking his nose in, saying Wenger should be given a touchline ban. Whatever next, Maradona going for the England job? It amazes me how some of this stuff goes to print.

Keep the faith. RED ARMY!
