Arsenal are going backwards fast

Eight goals conceded in four Premier League games

Arsenal are going backwards fast

Safe to say no love lost between Adebayor and his former colleagues

I can’t believe we lost that game. Up until we equalized, we were the better side then we collapsed. It was a tired performance though, Fabregas and Song weren’t their usual selves and why we started with Bendtner instead of Eduardo is beyond me.

Adebayor has gone down even more in my estimation. If you or me did what he did to RVP in the street you would almost certainly get nicked for it. I half expected him to celebrate in front of us if he scored. If I was him, I wouldn’t come to the E******s in April 2010. I think he has now officially passed Ashley Cole on the "hate-o-meter".

That aside, we cannot hide from the fact that we lost a game where we were in control. It’s not the first time that we have capitulated and it can’t keep happening. We conceded something like 37 goals last season and we’ve already conceded eight this term only four games in. Looking back at them they are all stupid goals that could have been avoided.

We can’t do anything about it until January but whether Wenger will do that then is another question. I know you can’t win every game but our lack of squad depth showed big time on Saturday. Most of the players didn’t get back in to the country until late Thursday or Friday morning. There’s no one good enough to deputise. We missed Arshavin too.

It’s going to be tough to bring people in come January as it’s World Cup year and most of the good players would be cup-tied for Europe. But saying that, we need to do well in the league to even play in the Champions League. We’re all told Wenger has money so why can’t he back up that claim? £40 odd million we got from Man City so where has it all gone???

I think it’s time for Hill-Wood, Fiszman and co to step aside and let Kroenke or even Usmanov come in along with David Dein - or at least let them give us the money we need. We are going backwards fast and we must act now before we end up like a Blackburn. These youngsters are technically good but they need older heads on the pitch to guide them.

Should we finish potless again this year then WE MUST take a gamble and splash the big bucks as I really can’t see any other way out of this predicament. The Invincibles never gave up until the last second. The team of the first double that featured Petit, Overmars, Adams, Parlour and Keown fought for the ball and each other and occasionally the opposition. I just can’t see any of that attitude anywhere in the current squad.

What leadership we did have has gone far too easily (Gilberto, Campbell, Toure etc). Steve Bould's all-conquering youth team would show the first team a thing or two about spirit, we might as well put them out against Wigan on Saturday at this rate. The good thing is we have a game tonight in Belgium so we have a chance to get this latest setback out of our system.

I love this club so much and all I want is to see is us being winners again. We’ve done it Wenger’s way for four years with no end product. It’s all well and good getting to finals but you have to win them, so it’s time for a change because at the moment its like watching a close friend go through a really tough time and there is nothing you can do to help.
