Cashley, Outrage and the Police

Arsenal fans might have good reason to believe there’s one law for them, and another for everyone else.

Cashley, Outrage and the Police

Homophobic? You’re having a laugh (along with attention-seeking press coverage)

Earlier this year a number of Muslim extremists were allowed to parade through the centre of London with placards calling for westerners to be beheaded and massacred. What did the Police do? Nothing. Yet why last weekend did they put a great deal of resources into preventing Arsenal fans from waving inflatable objects and fake money?

Apparently Outrage believed this to be homophobic abuse. This surprised me because Ashley Cole isn't homosexual, and how is this abusive to homosexuals? It is simply ridiculing him about newspaper allegations. If Richard Gere was a footballer, fans would have waved toy hamsters.

We live in a society where political correctness has been taken to an extreme, and when a so called "victim" minority group kicks up a fuss, the Police and people in authority bend over backwards for them in fear of being labelled "something-phobic". I suspect Outrage were merely seeking free publicity. Where have they been for the last five years with all the far worse abuse Sol Campbell has had to endure from Spurs fans?

However Outrage, the Police and Chelsea failed, and in fact made us more angry, resentful and determined. We were told before the game that we were on camera, and that ANY abuse of Cole would not be tolerated. Well I hope they are going to use the cameras at the other end to catch the fans in the Chelsea sections who made the "German bomber" signs and Nazi jibes, too stupid to realise that the German captain was playing for them, to say nothing about the ‘paedophile’ and ‘rapist’ chants.
