Not fit to wear the shirt?

Arsenal fans have been spoilt rotten. Real supporters back the boys through thick and thin and do not abuse them.

Not fit to wear the shirt?

Okay, we were all hurting. But what will slagging off the boys achieve?

Last night made me realise there is something very rotten within our club at the moment. Whilst I agree with much of what has been written regarding early leavers and the club's priorities as a 'business', I don't think people have looked deep enough.

There seems to be strong current amongst a good portion of our so called support that they are entitled to see our team beat every club and win every trophy put in front of us. Club level and corporate match goers are a very easy target on which to lay the blame for this. Empty seats don't look good but what upset me last night, certainly more than the result, was the reaction of some people. To walk out early is bad but to stay and openly abuse the side is unforgivable.

I sit North Stand Lower Block 7 and to see the reaction of some season ticket holders in the vicinity was disgusting. I'd love to know how the guy that stood for the last 5 minutes near the front singing 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' and 'give us our money back' reconciles this with being a supporter of the club.

This guy isn't a member of the prawn sandwich brigade - think nose ring, tattoos and long hair that hasn't seen a wash in 3 years yet he behaved like the team owes him some great debt. Spoilt doesn't get near it. To hear others joining in with his booing the players off made me sick. Certainly the majority that stayed won’t have behaved like that but there seems to be more and more of these scum within our match going fanbase these days.

Perhaps I was unlucky to be in hearing distance of this scumbag and the idiots who joined in with him but I really thought I'd seen the lowest our support could get away at Fulham with the abuse of Song.

This team deserve better than the support they got last night. Whether there's silverware in the cupboard should not alter how you get behind the team. If you feel this team don't deserve you please take your support up the other end of Seven Sisters where booing the Arsenal should see you fit in nicely.
