I am emailing to air my disgust at all those w***ers that ran for the exit when PSV's Alex scored in the recent second leg v PSV. I am a red member and would have gave anything to have been at that game, I was even in the process of coming up to the ground and buying a ticket from a tout, but received a phone call from home and had to return for reasons I can’t go into here.
Yes, I know it must have been heartbreaking to see the goal go in but it's your teem and you should stay till the end and put on a brave face. What made it look even more disgraceful was that with the ground’s increased capacity it looked even more embarrassing with all the empty seats.
Also from what I could here on the television there seemed like a total lack of atmosphere compared to what was witnessed the night before at Anfield. Even though I do not have an interest in Liverpool, whenever they sing ‘You'll never walk alone’ it makes the hairs on my neck stand up. Just think back to the nights when we beat them 3-1 and 6-3 - hardly any of their fans made for the exit. They stayed till the very end. In my view Liverpool's fans a by far the most passionate and loyal fans in the country bar Portsmouth’s.
I think all Arsenal fans that f**k off when the chips are down could learn a very valuable lesson from the scousers. Just think if the proposed Stanley Park move goes ahead how much more noise will be generated from their increased capacity. Compare that to our lack of support. The only game when I ever really felt the GROVE rocking was when we beat Man Ure.
It may sound like I'm sh*tting on my own club but I'm not; I just want the fans that are lucky enough to go to the GROVE on a regular basis to realise how lucky they are to wittiness the football that Arsenal play and make some real noise for the lads/kids. Then maybe we would get the goals we need that are so vital to our progression in major competitions.
Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.
