Get in for 7.30 v Bayern tomorrow night!

A final appeal to Arsenal fans to make the pre-game card display something special

Get in for 7.30 v Bayern tomorrow night!

What it will look like if we can all get in by 7.35

Okay, so we have been banging on about this for a while now, but apologies for that and this will be the last time. However, we need bodies in the stadium 15 minutes before the normal 7.45 start time v Bayern Munich tomorrow evening. I know people have trouble getting there for kick off as it is, but please make an effort so that we can do something a bit special and hopefully lift the players before the game begins. And critically, spread the word.

A stadium-wide card display is planned for the home tie, with cards to be held up by everyone in the Arsenal sections of the ground as the teams enter the pitch. Co-ordinated by REDaction in co-operation with the club, to be effective, they need far more supporters in their seats than is normally the case for evening matches when the teams come out.

So we urge you to act as if the kick off is at 7.30 for this fixture so that, even in the event of delay, you can be in place by 7.35 when the planned card display begins and is in place for when the teams come out. Your efforts will make the display that much more worthwhile and do the club and their fans proud in front of a watching worldwide TV audience. So please get in early! Just this once.

Westie - similar to me mate. A silver is the best membership really. Go when you like or when you can get tickets and theres no pressure to justify the cost of a Gold by going all the time. I let others use my silver for away days and it builds the credits up for when i fancy an away day. PS So much for my 1-0 predict. it was 10 men tonight but men v boys really wasn't it. Played their hardest though and at least stopped a romp happening. fair dos to em. Munich very strong all over the pitch. we looked like midgets by comparison.

Sanogo 'the postman' in (result) and Ox on with plans to keep Ozil awake. Wenger sounding bright as Pellergrini follows Maureen into the s...h.... leaving the Prof looking dapper. Nice play. Do believe it's a home win and did say 1-0 weeks back but let's go for a dodgy 3-2 and a brace from the postie ... Pills are cracking lads!

Westlower, you've hit the nail on the head with the line up, Chris Marsden.

@Ron, I was only winding Johnny up as I gave up our two season tickets in the westlower when we left Highbury. It coincided with my retirement and involvement in racehorses & greyhounds. Not enough time or money to do everything. Still silver members and we go to as many Saturday 3.0pm games as we can. Red wine is my tipple, only for health reasons of course!

Westlower, yes it was the Southampton game and neither of who you mention rings a bell i'm nearly sure he was English but could be wrong, was he the left back? and when i say bald he most likely just had his head shaved. But no matter it'll come to me, we have more important things to worry about tonight.

Westie - I had use a seat for the best part of a season up in Club level, season before last. Best seats in the ground right on border of the corner seats and the middle seats behind the goal in what was then the orange section (akin to the north bank end). Great seats and views, though the atmosphere is appalling. A high proportion of them up there have little real interest in football i always thought and i never used to see the same faces in the same seats in each match hardly. Used to get a lot of opposition fans in esp v Man Utd and Liverpool. That Club level is a stand alone testimony to what a rip off football Arsenal and 'the Emirates' has become. The cost of that seat i had the loan of was top side of £3500.00 per season even then. The guy i loaned it off had 3! Do they still serve that cat pee free 'beer' and atrocious tea up there? No disrespect but its a haven for mugs up there, paying those prices per game. I recall working it out once that a game v Wolves cost over 100 quid. Superb view but not near worth it. The half way seats must top 10 K now surely?

@Maguiresbridge, The bald headed bit has thrown me. If you were referring to the Southampton Cup Final their centre backs were Claus Lundekvah & Michael Svensson. If it was the Liverpool FA Cup Final then Sami Hypia & Stephan Henchoz were the central defenders. The only bald player I can remember was Liverpool's Gary McAllister and he came on as a 60th minute sub.

Westlower, when we're on the subject of cheats and diving over the page, if my memory serves me a certain TH was blatantly pulled back in the box in that game when clean through,(i can see the offender in my head but can't put a name to him only that he was bald)and if had went down would surely have got a pen but stayed on his feet and missed.

@Johnny Lynch, I appreciate your very generous & kind offer to pay for my club level membership for next season. A best priced treble at 40/1 (CL), 10/1 (PL) & 3/1 (FA CUP) would generate a 1804/1 treble or more likely a domestic double of 43/1 would help pay for it. These type of bets are not so outrageous as would seem apparent. I backed Man U for their treble in 1999 to win me a very substantial sum. My biggest bet to date was £1,200 on AFC to beat Southampton in the FA Cup final - thank you Robert Pires.

Skybet have us as 7/4 to win any trophy this season, 2/5 to win none. That's a good free bet you've given Westlower there, Mr Lynch!

Ron, am going for a 1-1 i think most of us would take that now, and it would make the second leg very interesting.

Hi Johnny - Tend to agree mate. Ill think he ll play safe and in a very over cautious manner likely to hand the initiative to BM. I dont see why as the chances of progressing over 2 legs are thin, he may as well give it a go from the off. Ox seems our only option to instill any dynamism in the team right now and i agree with you, he should be in from the start.

Ron - Here's my prediction. Wenger will leave out the dynamite Ox and we'll get f*cked by Munich.

Hi Jeff - I thought City gave them too much respect. Some crosses into the box seemed like it would have caused massive problems. Their keeper thinks hes a non contact zone. I thought City deserved more from the game, though the guy who was semt off is quite poor. Makes Silvestre look competent!

I don't want to tempt fate Ron so I will give the predictions a swerve! A good result for us is the main thing .Last night's snore bore siesta of tika taka, another CL game that failed to live up to its billing, saw Barca expose the flaws in City's game - so let's hope that Wenger can find some in BM's tonight and he tries to do something other than just pass pass pass and ends up getting hit on the break again a'la Dortmund.

Jack urges our players to use brain-power to overcome BM tonight ... somehow I doubt that this ploy will frighten anyone.

Reasons to be optimistic this evening. In 6 previous matches against Bayern Munich, Arsenal have won 2, drawn 1, lost 3; Quote from Pep Guardiola "I have never won here. I have learned you can never dominate for 90 minutes against Arsenal". The last team to stop BD from scoring was AFC. BD are due to lose a game (clutching at straws with that one). At odds of 4/1 to win tonight, AFC are the value bet. Hope Ox plays instead of Cazorla as Santi could be rested to replace Ozil v Sunderland on Saturday.

We need to make the supreme sacrifice in not having one for the road in the pre-match beer stakes. I will be waving whatever it is is I am meant to be waving from the back of 103. That's me sorted. What about ther other 60,005?

    Feb 18, 2014, 16:18 #46011

I'd love this to work but I can't see our 'fans' going for it. There is the optimum time in the first half from 13 minutes - 39 minutes where 90% of the ground are in, and then again from 56-78 minutes. At all other times The Emirates is pretty much half full. If we have two thirds of us in for before kick off we would have done well. I'll be there though out of sheer optimism.

    Feb 18, 2014, 14:26 #46003

Wenger must stop making the gunners being predictable. If it's passing all day and no shots made until a killer pass arrives, the BM defence will have it easy. Shoot and shoot if there's a chance of a goal. This will make the bm defenders jitterey and you never know a ricochet could be rifled in.
