Would Henry’s departure actually be a bad thing?

Do the stats suggest that Arsenal could even improve if the captain was sold?

Would Henry’s departure actually be a bad thing?

Henry: With only 12 goals in 27 appearances, he is far from blameless

With all the rumours about Thierry apparently moving to Barcelona, the question should be asked. What has Thierry Henry done over the past season?

Every Chelsea, Man U, Spurs and Liverpool fan I know have all said, ‘If Thierry left, Arsenal would be nothing.’ But if you look at the number of games he has played this year compared to past seasons, there is a big difference.

In the 2005/06 season he made 31 appearances in the league and we finished 4th. This season he made 16 appearances and we finish 4th. We even manage to get to the League Cup final without him! Also in the 05/06 he gets 33 goals in all competitions but this year 12! Then he complains that we never win anything.

Would he really be that big a loss? Wenger needs to make sure if he does go that we either get ‘Big Money’ (AND SPEND IT!) or we get Eto’o in a swap. But whatever happens I hope it is sorted out soon because I am getting sick about hearing all these rumours. Thierry - either go or stay, but remember you committed your future to us!
