With Arsenal’s home FA Cup quarter final against Watford on Sunday afternoon being the eighth home FA Cup / Champions League fixture, the club’s financially stretched season ticket holders have the option not to take up their seats, and thus avoid having to pay between £35 and £70 extra if they renew their season tickets at the end of May.
Such a gesture also presents them with the rare opportunity to send a direct message to the board of directors and Stan Kroenke in particular if they are unhappy with:
• Stan Kroenke extracting £3 million a year from the club for ‘consultancy services’, the details of which the directors refuse to divulge in spite of repeated requests from shareholders
• The high price of tickets to watch Arsenal matches, which could easily be reduced as a consequence of the bumper new Premier League TV deal
Season ticket holders, paying the highest prices in English football, will need to inform the club that they wish to opt out of using their seat by their deadline of 12 noon on Thursday 10th March, and in so doing take the opportunity to let the board know they are not happy by refusing to give them any further money.

If several thousand season ticket holders opt out of Sunday's game, the club will be under no illusion that they can simply do as they choose without alienating the most loyal element of their fanbase. So act now if your pocket has already felt enough pain or if you want to take the opportunity to send an important message to the Club.
