Wenger won't renew unless Dein returns

Word from inside the club that Arsene does not have the money to spend that the board claim he does, and that he will go in 2008 if things remain as they are.

Wenger won't renew unless Dein returns

Arsene – One more year?

Many of us will be up in arms about the situation at Arsenal at the moment. Some will blame Henry, others are suggesting Wenger should have spent, others are blaming the board.

What does appear to be true is that David Dein may not have been 100% blameless in his actions. None of us will never really know the behind the scenes goings on.

However, now there is anger and frustration. Those of us that have watched the club for 30 years plus have seen it grow in stature to what it has become today. But we are in serious danger of watching things turn back very quickly, and worse.

Last month I was very reliably informed by a backroom employee at the club (I cannot be more specific as I do not wish to compromise their identity), about their serious concerns at the comments of Keith Edelman and the board in promising transfer money for Arsene Wenger. The source strongly disputes this and says that there will not be any big signings. (This was prior to Henry's sale). They were concerned that fans might point the finger at Wenger for falling to spend the 'promised' money.

If David Dein does not return within the next 12 months, then Arsene will NOT renew his contract and leave and other senior backroom staff will follow.

We, as real genuine supporters, MUST act now. The board must explain what is going on with the future of the club. Wenger's future is key right now.

I believe the current board have been caught out here. The game is changing - has changed - so fast that they have been caught out with the whole Dein affair. I'm convinced it is now affecting Arsene.

He was always going to leave one day, but however hard that may have seem, we have always believed it would be when the club was in a far more stable position than it seems to be now.

Losing Arsene in twelve months with the club in this state will be too hard to stomach.

Now is the time for Arsenal fans to show passion in a decent controlled way by pressing the board for some answers. We all must unite and ask of our beloved club what is happening, the future is at stake.
