Okay. Arsenal fans with singing voices and a working knowledge of Arsenal songs old (especially) and new are needed on Thursday evening.
There is some publicity about it on the club’s website here
But put simply, Arsenal fans are required to gather outside the stadium under the clock, near the south bridge off Drayton Park where the old clock is now situated. This is tomorrow (Thursday 5th July) Arrive at 5.30 for recording between 6 and 7.
This is part of a BBC led initiative called ‘Sing London’ encouraging people to get together and sing the old songs that were once part of everyday life in London. And they’ve chosen Arsenal (probably due to a member of the production team being a Gooner I reckon) as one of the themes for their campaign.
Sections of the event will then go out live on BBC Radio London’s Drive Time show. Tom Watt and the BBC Singers will lead the singing of what are described as “Arsenal inspired footie favourites, old and new” by the blurb on the club website. Everybody who attends will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed item from next season.
So if you can get down and fancy a bit of vocal exercise, get to Ashburton Grove for 5.30, Thursday. And no-one is going to complain about you standing up and giving it your all for the Arsenal.
