North Bank Banners to make Ashburton debut!

Remember the banners celebrating WHL 1971, Anfield 1989, Old Trafford 2002 & WHL 2004. They are back!

North Bank Banners to make Ashburton debut!

Those banners at Highbury at the front of the North Bank Upper

At times it would appear that some of the traditions of football count for nothing these days, but after a long and difficult process REDaction are pleased to announce the return of a feature from the Highbury days that we hope will bring a smile to many faces.

At our suggestion and with the backing of the club, the clear spaces on the front of the North Bank upper tier were decorated with various banners recalling our great championship winning victories at White Hart Lane, Anfield, and Old Trafford. Alongside these were tributes to the late great David Rocastle and a reminder to all-comers of which team was, is and will forever be the ‘Kings of London’.

With the move to Emirates these banners needed a new home. Unfortunately after trying various locations within the ground it was decided that they were just too small to have the same effect they used to at Highbury.

Then after a suggestion from within the club the idea of using the pitch-side message boards was put forward.

The boards are now ready to go so keep your eyes open for the new ‘improved’ banners for the 21st century that should be revealed this weekend.

REDaction would especially like to thank Sue, Mike, and Katie at Supporter Services for their help in getting this matter resolved, they must have been fed up with every conversation starting with “What has happened to our banners?”, but like us they stuck with it and we got the result our combined determination deserved.
