Following on from this, we invited any other Arsenal bloggers that fancied risking our critical eye in return for a plug to get in touch. Two ventured the fiery wrath of onlinegooner, so here we go…

Le Grove
A mixture of match reviews and previews, good honest opinion and questionable spelling. But hell, blogs should be about enthusiasm more than good grammar so as long as the message gets across it shouldn’t be an issue. They describe the blog as one “where you can have an opinion, not get one.” There are two writers responsible for the blog - Geoff and Pedro. And I think that they are club level season ticket holders, which doesn’t make their opinion any less valid and in terms of viewpoint at home matches, possibly more so. I know there is a lot of bad feeling towards club level, and a lot of stereotyping of the kind of fans that watch matches from there. Without getting into that debate, all I will say is that I know there are a lot of hardcore fans who can afford to watch matches from the middle tier, so it’s unreasonable to tar them all with the same brush. There are people who don’t give a fig about the football but are there for the ‘matchday experience’ (copyright Keith Edelman!) in all sections of the stadium. And latecomers/early leavers too. It must be difficult doing an Arsenal blog these days as there are lots of others and you have to have something a bit unique about yours to get readers. And given everyone is writing about the same subject matter that’s a tough ask. Good luck to all that try. Apparently Newsnow won’t list you until you have a year’s worth of postings, so it’s a long haul to get to that stage and open yourself up to those that decide to read you based upon your headlines.

Clockenders
Formerly known as Block 19, this blog is brought to you on behalf of the group of fans who are trying to get something akin to the redsection established in the block next to the away fans in the lower east. The usual Arsenal blog content is mixed with some news about redaction, the Rocket and the fans’ anti-Usmanov campaign. It also touches on other subjects that the writer(s) feel like relaying, such as a trip to the rugby World Cup final and the American football game at Wembley last weekend. I think with all these blogs it’s a matter of dipping your toe in the water and then sticking with the ones you like. There certainly aren’t enough hours in the day to read them all, and by nature there’s a lot of repetition the day after matches. I mean, how can thirty people write about the same series of events and they all be totally unique. It’s not going to happen. But give every one a try at least once. There’s something for all tastes out there.

And if there are any other bloggers out there who fancy a plug, email us a link to your blog and I’ll take a look at them with a view to a plug this time next month.
