New CD for Arsenal fans out today

Who are Led Zeppelin? The Riders of the Night are back!

Monkey here from the band The Riders of the Night (the people responsible for the "Eyes Right" CD that The Highbury Spy gave a plug for in the last Gooner issue sold at Highbury).

We have a new release out on the 15th December 2007, B' Jesus Said Paddy"

A bit about the music, the tracks are:

1. B' Jesus Said Paddy A new song based the old Arsenal anthem with, our hero Paddy singing the boys on to glory in the Fairs Cup, Championship winning victories at The Lane (twice), Anfield, & Old Trafford, Cup glory at Wembley and on his escapades around Europe.

2. We're On The Ball A number that was once done in the very early seventies in honour of The Arsenal and was nicked and destroyed by Ant & Dec in England's name for the last World Cup. Well we're nicking it back! A we've Ska'd it up.

3. They Ain't Half Changed Our Arsenal A social comment on what's been happening to our Club and the direction it's been taking over the last few years. In a pub-singer styleee.

4. I Wish I Could Play Like Charlie George A punk version of the ode to "The King of Highbury.

5. It's The Bear by Denton This is a special bonus track by the late Dainton Connell which he recorded a while back with Chris Lowe of The Pet Shop Boys but was never released. We've been given kind permission by Chris to include it on the CD and will be donating a percentage of proceeds from the release and any money made from downloads of the track to Dainton's family. Incidentally, a member of the band Mick The Bins contributed "The Bear - R.I.P" article in a recent issue of The Gooner.

We've already had a bit of airplay when Steve Bunce spun a couple of the tracks on his show on BBC Radio London.

The CD goes on sale at the very fair price of only £5, and will be available from vendors in most good boozers around the N5 vicinity on match days, strategic points around the ground (including the stall that sells fanzines, pictures and t-shirts outside 170 Drayton Park), on ebay, from our online shop at http://theridersofthenight.bigcartel.com/ and soon available to download via iTunes.

One of our missions, in what this year sees the 30th Anniversary of the passing of Elvis, is to kill him off again. As we and most of the people we've spoken to just don't get "The Wonder of You" or what the hell is got to do with The Arsenal. Why try and manufacture an "anthem" when we've had a perfectly good one in B' Jesus Said Paddy for years that just needs a little bit of promoting to the young 'uns and newer supporters amongst us?
