I was wrong about Gallas

Drawing conclusions too quickly is a dangerous game to play. I must have been too delirious from the shock of the Sp*** actually beating us to be able to have a fully functioning brain. I hastily wrote, at 10:45 on Tuesday night, that Gallas was in fact unable to lead the team in an appropriate manner after a spat with Bendtner, especially due to Gilberto having to split them up.

That is how I saw the event (partly contributed to by my phone’s constant buzzing with texts from Spurs “fans” distracting my eyes from the screen) - and it was only when I woke up the next morning to see Good Morning Sports Fans suggesting it was an Adebayor head butt which sparked Willy’s involvement that I realised I had made a terrible mistake.

I felt really bad, as I have never disliked Gallas before - but thinking he had returned to his past ways at Chelsea I was not a happy Gooner, as it had really rubbed salt into the wound as large as our casualty list! He is a splendid leader, and I am sorry to say that as much as I loved ‘Gils’ last season, he is not the man he used to be, and well, he never will be. Despite being the most experienced man on the field, he was one of the most wasteful, and it was wrong of me to even par his name next to Gallas’ on this season alone.

But, once again, in the heat of the moment I got it all wrong, but hopefully it will be possible that we can still gain something from the man, be it money from a transfer or a steady, safe-as-houses back-up for Flamini, who’s practically a new signing this year!

Regarding Saturday, I am hopeful that Arsene’s men can silence Kev’s Army and maybe install a little bit of pride back to the red side of North London. Just make one thing certain… we remind everyone present that it took Spuds 9 years…
