So here we are. The pinnacle of a turbulent season following The Arsenal. A young team who rode atop the Premier League for so long but who have recently endured the worst run under Arsene Wenger for nine years. Could we have forsaken the title in favour of the Champions League this season? Cesc Fabregas says for the last few months, he’s been dreaming of an Arsenal Barcelona final where he can put his boyhood club to the sword and his performance in the San Siro showed the world he wants to make that dream a reality this season!
The last time we went to Anfield for a season-defining game was 19 years ago. And we all know what happened then. Make no mistake, this game will be massive to us and our young team. Our last realistic chance of a trophy this season rests on what happens over the 90 intense minutes of battle on Merseyside. The question for you is where will you be watching as the game unfolds? With 2,600 tickets allocated to Arsenal fans, there’ll be tens of thousands of lads looking for somewhere to watch the game and so REDaction have collaborated with the Carling Academy Islington to have their venue exclusively for Gooners! The last time we had an event at the Carling Academy Islington, it was for the Champions League final two years ago and when we hit the 900 capacity, we still had dozens queuing up at the door it was so popular. When Sol scored with that header, the Screen On The Green felt the tremors!
So if you’re not lucky enough to be going to Anfield for the game, please do join us at The Carling Academy Islington where you’ll be surrounded by hundreds of Arsenal fans in an atmosphere fit for the occasion. It’ll be better than watching it at home and certainly better than going to a pub where half the crowd are Cockney “Scousers”! As if that weren’t incentive enough, pints of Carling will be £2.60 a pint all night, hot dogs will be served, pre-match build up will be shown on giant screens and there will of course be free entry.
Doors open at 6:45pm (arrive as soon as possible to avoid disappointment) and the venue will be nudged up to 1000 capacity across two rooms to help ensure nobody’s left out! The whole of this beautiful building will be decked out in giant red and white flags and banners to make it feel even more like an Arsenal home game! Get your mates on board and enjoy this crucial second leg game on the very best of company!
