Remember the long awaited Chinese Democracy album by Guns N’ Roses? Recording began in 1994, and it’s almost ready. The latest edition of the Gooner podcast is our answer to that. The panel chat was recorded in the midweek after Eduardo had his leg broken at Birmingham. Since then, it’s been in the process of production and re-mixing, partly due to the panel members refusing to perform a sketch which took the p*ss out of the notion that Martin ‘Tiny’ Taylor was the real victim of events at St Andrews. Oh and they didn’t want to do any chants for Eduardo either. And you think there are too many prima donnas on the pitch…
Topics covered include the Eduardo incident, William Gallas and the introduction of police sniffer dogs inside the turnstiles to detect people taking drugs into Ashburton Grove.
There are two ways of hearing it. First up, online without downloading by simply clicking here.
Alternatively, if you want to download it to play on your mp3 player or at your leisure on your computer, visit this page move your cursor over where it says ‘episode 9’ in red text and then…
For pc users, right click your mouse and select ‘save target as’
For mac users press 'control' on your keyboard and then click your mouse and select 'download linked file'
Once it’s downloaded you can play the file using your mp3 software.
As for iTunes, frankly we’ve given up on that. You can drag the downloaded file into your iTunes library to hear it, but as for the podcast system on iTunes store, those who subscribe to the podcast might find it automatically downloads, but we are offering no guarantees. The impression we get is that there are two issues with iTunes and podcasts…
1 – Software bugs that prevent updating of the menu of available podcasts.
2 – To get on the featured podcasts on the list for casual browsers, you may have to pay iTunes some money.
At least that’s the way it seems. F**k ‘em.
Thanks to Lord Ashburton, Basti, Marc, Liam, Max, Mike and Rob for their various contributions.
Podcast number 10 may be available at some point in the future. Then again it might not. Let’s see if Guns N’ Roses get their act together first, eh?
