Has Wenger changed his mind about continental players?

Aaron Ramsey: Chose north London over the north west

By now I guess that everyone has heard the great news that Aaron Ramsey has chosen to move to Arsenal rather than Everton and even better Man Utd. What wonderful news that he has chosen us before not just any two clubs but the two massive ones stated above. I wonder if maybe Arsene is changing his mind on signing fewer foreign players?

I also noticed in one of last Sunday’s papers (8th June) that we were being linked with Shay Given as well. Now that is one signing I would love to see happen as I’m a great admirer of Given and have always thought he is one of the top or three goalkeepers in the Premiership. God knows he has saved Newcastle countless times and they could quite easily be playing in the Championship now if it wasn’t for him. He has often saved them from a right thrashing at Arsenal in the past on numerous occasions.

I think as long as Arsene keeps buying foreign players they are always more likely to move back abroad again, than say a British/Irish player, possibly because of the language situation - who knows? Quite a few of the European players speak more than one language while quite a few of the home-based ones haven’t quite mastered English yet.

There are quite a few young and upcoming English players now, like Joe Hart and Michael Johnson at Man City, Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlohor at Villa. Now is the time to move in and get them before our main rivals do and their value goes up even more.

Is anyone else amused with the ongoing situation re the ‘Cristine’ Ronaldo will he won’t he situation? At least it gives us a breather for a change, although the Cesc situation will no doubt arise again as soon as this situation is resolved.

Anyway it really looks like we mean business this summer regarding incoming transfers, and just to finish I really hope we get David Villa as well as he has stated he wants to come to us. Surely the money received for Hleb would mostly pay for that. Looking forward to exciting times at Arsenal next season.
