Eboue – Patrolled the midfield like a raging bear?

Against West Brom last weekend we showed that we might not have the biggest squad depth but that we have highly adaptable players. Usually I’m one of the first of many Gooners to moan and complain about a certain Emannuel Eboue but on Saturday he proved he could be the Gilberto replacement.

I’ll admit he cannot shoot very well (not one on target) but his ball winning and build up play was unusually superb from someone with Eboue’s “talents” and although majority of Arsenal fans disapprove of his antics and dirty play I believe - albeit slightly hastily – that he could be our Roy Keane. Eboue has shown he can do the tough tackling job the whole game and when he played central midfield, he did well and gave Denilson the chance to burst forward.

As we all know on the right hand side of midfield Eboue is hopeless, unless he does the basic (run to the byline and cross). Another plus side is that we showed we can create a few match winning chances without Cesc and that Samir Nasri is proving he has the “If you wont shoot, I will” (aka the direct) attitude which has been lacking since a certain Bobby Pires.

Another plus side is that Van Persie to me seems to be stronger as he was hassled but seemed to have regained the “van Tastic” gene to outsmart defenders as he almost scored. It’s an if and I don’t believe it’s that much of a Big if anymore, but if Van Persie stays fit we will win the league - mainly because he is one of those players the top four all need one of. Man United = Ronaldo, Chelsea = Drogba, Liverpool = Gerrard , players who can all carve out opportunities for themselves.

The Doom Mongers Of the Emirates can stick their heads up their own **** for all I care as there isn’t much wrong with the team. I believe Johan Djourou is a good centre back and the defence showed against West Brom that they can roughneck in defence and make last ditch tackles and clearances off the line. And Almunia has seemed to improve over the summer.

And I have a plan to defeat the Arsenal stewards… ALL SING TOGETHER, THEY CAN’T STOP 50,000+ OF US!

In Wenger we trust.
