Glass half full offering after Craven Cottage defeat

Fulham was bad, but I still have hope

Cesc – Tick or tock?

My views after West Brom still stand after the game against Fulham. It seems the problem doesn’t lie in defence, but we can’t seem to create a cutting edge chance without Senor Cesc. Nasri gave me the impression that we could create chances but not so on Saturday. Van Persie’s free kicks were abysmal. It’s become apparent that the true problem is that without Cesc we have no “Tick or Tock” when pressing forward.

But remember it is early days and although I had written an article about the positives, nothing can be taken for granted. As I said before the defending of the team as a whole has become more mature and “mischievious” - well I hope so otherwise a certain Bacary Sagna would be wrong.

Another thing that has grabbed me buy surprise and I may upset many Gooners by saying this is that maybe it time to drop Kolo Toure (I know, I know) as with Djourou and Gallas at the back things looked more “cohesive”. Toure and Gallas are too similar in comparison whereas Djourou can take care of aerial balls. The only other reason I believe Toure should be dropped is because Gallas is captain, so we obviously can’t drop him unless Wenger loses the plot.

It is not all doom and gloom however, as even though we don’t have conventional wingers, at least our full backs can put in a fantastic cross (well done Sagna, shame about Adebayor... a wage increase for two poor games on the bounce). I still feel Van Persie needs games under his belt to fully revive the (I love this adjective) ‘VanTasticness’ and even though we have just dropped three points there are many more in the league to come. With our little maestro or maestros (if you include Ro-Sick-Note), we will have the creativeness back with our new directness in Nasri (who is a little gem) and new found experience with Man United’s very own Mikael Silvestre.

With a little bit of luck and a lot of belief we can do it.

In Wenger we trust.
