Out have gone Lassana Diarra, Gilberto, Phillipe Senderos, Justin Hoyte, Matthieu Flamini, Jens Lehmann and Alexander Hleb.
The squad was decimated by injuries at the back end with Eduardo, Sagna, van Persie, Diaby and Rosicky keeping Gary Lewin away from quality time with his missus. No wonder he left!
To top up an already thin squad Wenger has brought in an injured Bischoff with 16 minutes under his belt, an experienced, but injured, cast off from Manchester United, a Welsh schoolkid and Nasri while a threadbare midfield is being filled by Eboue.
He then tries to convince the fans that Adebayor has made sacrifices to stay with the club? Tell that to the fans who have forked out a grand on season tickets!
Is there any wonder every message board and fanzine has the fans scratching their heads.
Peter Hill-Wood is right in one respect. Clubs shouldn’t do things just because the fans are having a whinge. But Arsenal fans have been patient. Shameful performances against Tottenham and Manchester United were not followed by protests against Wenger and the board.
Unlike other clubs we are a patient bunch. But don’t mug us off.
